The Mount Prospect Historical Society is working on a new permanent blacksmith exhibit at their museum, which will commemorate John Meyn, Mount Prospect’s first blacksmith. Their 1906 carriage house will eventually be converted into a mock blacksmith shop, and in the meantime they want to host a blacksmith demonstration in the dooryard to get people excited for the new exhibit.
To this end, they are looking for a blacksmith to come demonstrate on one Saturday in August for about 3 hours in the morning/afternoon (exact date and times are flexible.) Compensation is negotiable. If you are interested or need more information, please contact Lindsay Rice by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (847)392-9006.
